Art has always been a passion of mine no matter the form. Ever since I was a young child ive been fascinated with creating something out of nothing. I followed my passion and graduated from Monmouth University with a degree in Fine Arts and Education. While accomplishing my undergraduate I was able to travel many parts of the world studying art. I focused on learning sculpture while in Greece; I studied painting and drawing techniques while staying in Paris, and finally moved to Holland to expand my passion for painting. While in these countries I took art classes with professors who are leaders in their crafts. Following my undergraduate degree I furthered my education with a Masters Degree in Education. Over my years of teaching, I have developed an effective teaching style that incorporates instructional methods with attainable expectations to reach all students regardless of their learning abilities. My classroom fosters a positive learning environment designed to engage and encourage cognitive development in a fun manner. Following the framework of the Danielson model in lesson planning and incorporating each domain helps encourage growth in classroom environment, engagement, and productivity while bringing in content from both math and literacy. My biggest strength is my ability to tailor lessons, whether it is altering the lessons due to the student’s disability, academic level, or to encourage productivity by making projects more engaging. Another strength is collaborating with my peers to help link my classroom projects with the curriculum that is being taught in the core areas to further cement the content. With these methods I have been able to create and maintain a positive relationship with the student body at my school. After traveling the world studying art, getting the necessary degrees of professionalism, and many years of hands on experience in The School District of Philadelphia, I welcome the chance to enrich your child with the colorful world of art.
